I am fully qualified to offer Dermaplaning from my purpose-built salon, which is located in a beautiful and comfortable log cabin at my home in Kilnwood Vale, Horsham.
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate the overall health and appearance of your skin. It’s a non-intrusive, easy, fast and painless approach to keeping your skin refreshed and youthful.
It requires the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to gently “shave” the skin’s surface on the face and neck, removing the top-most layer of dead skin along with the fine vellus hair/peach fuzz. This hair can trap dirt and oil causing breakouts and a dull complexion.
The process of Dermaplaning is one of removing dead skin cells, which:
- minimises old skin scars from acne or sun damage
- soothes your skin
- removes fine hairs
- reduces the visibility of large pores or skin pigment variation
- releases clogged pores, encouraging your skin to produce new skin cells and collagen for a more youthful appearance
The results are immediate and there is very little downtime. Unlike other exfoliating treatments such as microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning is suitable for all skin types. The physical exfoliation triggers the cell regeneration process and allows products to better penetrate the skin.
Your skin will look brightened and youthful and if you wear make up it will sit flawlessly on your skin. Clients often worry that the hair in the face will grow back thicker and coarser – this is NOT the case, as vellus hair (the fine light peach fuss) will grow back exactly the same. Should you have any dark terminal hairs I will remove them by plucking them out so they don’t grow back thicker.
